Position Description Summary:
The Connell School of Nursing (CSON) and the Woods College of Advancing Studies (WCAS) at Boston College is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-accruing clinical faculty position in the area of management at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. This is a renewable long-term contract position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. This position will be required to teach, mentor, and advise masters students, and conduct innovative applied and practical research. CSON and WCAS places high value on enthusiastic and innovative teaching, applied and practical research, and scholarly and collaborative engagements. CSON and WCAS offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in an online and residential format. This position will be teaching into the online graduate degree programs within CSON and WCAS.  

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the online Master’s in Health Administration (MHA) program in healthcare strategy, innovation, and general management. The successful candidate will be required to mentor and advise master degree students, participate in program meetings, serve on college and program committees. While not required, engagement in a research agenda is encouraged.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • clinician and/or administrator prepared at the doctoral level with a terminal degree (e.g. DNP, MD, PhD, etc.)
  • demonstrated experience in healthcare management, public health or an allied field such as health services research
  • demonstrated track record of scholarly publications, extramural funding, mentoring, and teaching
  • a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience including full course design and instruction but can be part-time
  • experience in both in-class and online instruction; and
  • a minimum of 3 years of management experience (can run concurrently with teaching experience).
