Position Summary:
Facilities Services. Under general supervision, the Employee Services Specialist assists in administering key personnel functions in the Division of Facilities Services by providing support services to the employee lifecycle, including a focus on recruiting and assisting with internal onboarding orientation, training, personnel tracking and timekeeping.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with department managers to determine staffing needs, responds to questions on employment processes and procedures to begin recruitment.
  • Helps train and assist Hiring Managers and Supervisors on University recruitment methods, including job ads, position tracking, hiring proposals and interview support.
  • Provides supervisors and managers with requested reports and helps to resolve issues as needed.
  • Works with counterpart to track and report timekeeping for division employees, including workers compensation and leave related absences.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the field of human resource administration for application to functions of responsibility, specifically in the areas of workers compensation, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc.
  • Prepares Personnel Action Forms where applicable.
  • Ensures proper adherence to document retention in accordance with applicable laws and University policy.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism and treats all HR matters with confidentiality.

    Bachelor’s Degree

    Three or more years of related work experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Preferred Education:

    Preferred Experience::
    Working knowledge of Human Resources and Payroll policies and procedures; one or more years of Human Resources and recruiting experience.

    Salary Range: $31,879 - $39,827
