This position is for an objective level animal research technician (ART). This position will function independently and be knowledgeable in rodent handling and rodent research techniques. This position will be responsible for performing routine animal husbandry tasks and assisting with mouse colony/breeding procedures for the Biomedical Research Model Services (BRMS) Mouse Breeding Colony. These duties include general animal husbandry, feeding and watering animals, monitoring animal room environments, cleaning primary and secondary enclosures, receiving animals, transporting animals, restraining and handling animals, reporting sick and injured animals, general facility maintenance and housekeeping. ART positions interact with investigators and veterinary staff as required. Other duties to be assigned by the supervisor.
English Proficiency Required - This position requires one or more of the following abilities: ability to speak, read, write, and/or understand verbal instructions in English
Regularly scheduled hours to include weekend work. Holiday hours required. Final schedule will be determined prior to start date.

Title and pay rate will be determined at the time of hire based on candidate qualifications and experience. The minimum pay rate is $13.61.
