RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR SR
Duties: A Senior Research Investigator position in the Department of Neurosurgery's Neurotrauma Laboratory requires a highly trained, experienced, motivated scientist expected to work independently in the laboratory to establish and execute key projects in addition to leading science management of other personnel and projects. Large and small animal models, and advanced Immunochemistry, Histology, Microscopy and Imaging are used to investigate the basic mechanisms underlying traumatic brain injury. The primary function of this position is to design and perform experiments in the laboratory that continues to develop our research and grant opportunities. Secondary functions of this position include providing organizational support for the laboratory and management of trainees. The Senior Research Investigator is expected to participate in writing manuscripts, preparing presentations, and establishing collaborations and will be responsible for design, optimization and implementation of complex experiments.
Qualifications: Highly advanced professional discipline. M.D/Ph.D., M.D., Ph. D., or equivalent doctoral degree and 5 to 7 years of experience required. Excellent communication skills. Position contingent upon funding.
