Position Summary: This full-time faculty appointment has responsibilities for instructional and administrative activities in both the didactic and clinical phases of the curriculum, with an with an educational focus on critical care, inpatient medicine, and procedural medicine. The faculty member will serve as course instructor for lecture, lab, and simulation-based didactic courses, with capacity for development as course director. In addition, student advising, involvement in admissions processes, and participation in ongoing program self-study and accreditation processes are required. Faculty members in the UNC Physician Assistant Program are expected to maintain an active 0.3 FTE clinical practice in their specialty. Academic rank is commensurate with experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Instruction and evaluation of didactic and clinical phase students * Develop, implement, and evaluate didactic course curriculum * Clinical site evaluation * Mentor and advise physician assistant students * Participate in committees at the divisional and departmental levels, such as Academic Committee, Admissions Committee, and/or Supervised Clinical Practice Experience Committee * Participate in the admissions process * Participate in the program's ongoing self-study and accreditation process * Develop academic scholarship plan

Education Requirements: * Master degree relevant to physician assistant education and/or practice * Current NCCPA certification

Qualification and Experience: * Possession of, or ability to obtain North Carolina physician assistant licensure * Minimum of three years of working experience in the clinical setting, with a preference for candidates with inpatient critical care experience * Minimum of one year providing didactic and/or clinical education to physician assistant or medical students * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Apple iOS for iPad
