QA Manager/Abstract and Training

Job description

The QA Manager/Abstract and Training for Casefinding is responsible for the management and oversight of case ascertainment completeness at the Kentucky Cancer Registry (KCR).

This position is an essential component of the management team of KCR; in particular, this person oversees cancer case reporting to KCR from non-hospital sources of information. This includes private clinics, physician offices, laboratories, and data exchange with other states.

This person also directs the work of three staff members and oversees several specialized projects. This includes recently expanded efforts to oversee several new initiatives in electronic cancer data reporting to KCR. This QA Manager/Abstract and Training will provide the medical knowledge and cancer reporting expertise to advise IT staff on the design and implementation of electronic reporting and processing tools.

This person will be consulted to determine the relevance of data content, data flow, data quality and its suitability for end uses.

Relevant experience includes work performed in a hospital or central cancer registry, experience collecting, coding, or interpreting electronic health records, management of staff and medical records in a health care setting or conducting quality assurance or data analysis using cancer patient data.
