Patient Relations Assistant/UKHC

Job description



The Department of Ophthalmology is hiring a Patient Relations Assistant.

This position is the initial face of the department for our patients. We expect the person in this position to respectfully acknowledge and greet patients and work to create a positive experience, anticipating patient needs, answering any questions and monitoring wait times, using "blameless apology" to communicate and manage patient expectations.

This position must be proficient at patient registration and insurance eligibility verification. This position ensures proper collection of co-pays and following all cash handling policies and procedures. In addition, HIPAA compliance must remain a focus for this position.

This position may also be required to assist with obtaining patient charts as needed and create any medical records per established guidelines. We are a fast-paced, growing ophthalmology enterprise and hire people who enjoy working in this type of environment.
