Lawrence University instructors are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching. Duties for the Schmidt Fellow/Instructor of Chinese will include teaching undergraduate Chinese language courses including lecturing, grading student work and collaborating with department faculty on lesson plan development, syllabus, textbook selection and related duties. The person will also be required to teach introductory courses in theoretical linguistics including topics related to phonology, morphology and syntax.
- Master’s Degree in Chinese, Chinese Linguistics or related field.
- Native or near-native fluency in Chinese and the ability to incorporate linguistics concepts into language instruction.
