Half-Time Faculty Position in Psychology
Trinity Christian College invites applications for a .5-time position in Psychology beginning in August 2018. Trinity’s robust psychology department hosts a graduate program in counseling psychology, an adult bachelor’s degree completion program, and a traditional undergraduate major in psychology. Trinity graduates often pursue careers in counseling, research, and other human-service oriented fields in the Chicagoland area and beyond.
Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.D. in counseling psychology, clinical psychology or counselor education preferred. A master’s degree in psychology, counseling or a related field is required. Previous college-level teaching experience is desired.
Work experience in a psychology or counseling related field is desirable.
Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith, as expressed through the Reformed theological tradition. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom through advising and other informal academic and cultural settings.
This is a .5 position which requires teaching two courses per semester as well as being on-campus 2.5 days a week. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, meeting with prospective students, attending department meetings, college and departmental service, and scholarly and professional achievement. Some teaching may require evening hours.
Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
