Degree and Area of Specialization:
A Bachelor's degree in the natural, life, applied science, information technology, or engineering field is required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of 2 years experience working with networks or databases required.
License or certificate:
This Assistant Data Manager works with the Central Analytical Laboratory (CAL) of the National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP). This program is located at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) at 2601 Agriculture Drive in Madison, Wisconsin. The person in this position is responsible for data review and verification for the NADP's ongoing monitoring networks, including the National Trends Network (NTN), Atmospheric Integrated Research Monitoring Network (AIRMoN), and Ammonia Monitoring Network (AMoN). The Assistant Data Manager also provides assistance to the CAL Data and Site Support Manager in supporting the database infrastructure for the laboratory.

-Laboratory training and work experience
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications or equivalent.
-Technical writing experience, including preparation of oral and written scientific reports; and experience with Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) database syntax is preferred.
-Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems
-This person must be detail-oriented; be able to follow data screening protocols; and meet stringent deliverable schedules.
-A full understanding and compliance with the CAL Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and SOPs to meet contract specifications.
-A strong technical background with the ability to perform difficult and complex research technical support tasks involving independent judgment.
-Strict adherence to specified procedures is required.
