Position Summary:
Admissions. The Event Coordinator provides daily supervision and coordination of all Admissions on-campus events for the Armstrong Campus; oversees the Southern Ambassador student organization; and supervises the student assistants for the Office of Admissions Welcome Center and Call Center.

Essential Functions

  • Provides daily supervision and coordination of all Admissions on-campus events, including daily visits, group tours, and Open House, Transfer Friday, Counselor Breakfast and Visit Days, and Accepted Students Day.
  • Works with the Admissions Counselor on the Liberty Campus to coordinate on-campus events in Hinesville and assists the Assistant Director of Events on the Statesboro Campus with on-campus events in Statesboro.
  • Generates reports on recruitment events and student calls, and analyzes practices for continual improvement of practices.
  • Supervises and trains one Administrative Assistant who serves as the first point of contact for the office/Welcome Center and an average of 16 student assistants between the Welcome Center and Call Center.
  • Advises the Southern Ambassador student recruitment team, comprised of up to 45 volunteer tour guides who give tours of campus, works Admissions events, and assists with other department tour requests, as needed.
  • Assists with the counselor-on-call schedule for the office.
  • Presents to groups of campus visitors, and provides campus tours.
  • Builds and maintain favorable relations with staff in the office and campus partners (Armstrong, Statesboro, and Liberty).

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Salary Range: $30,358 - $37,931
