Provide teaching excellence in the didactic and clinical settings for dental students and periodontics residents  

Evaluate, revise and improve courses in pre-doctoral and post-graduate curriculum for the purpose of insuring relevance, keeping courses up-to-date, and introducing technological innovations where appropriate and where possible.   

Develop and conduct a research program  

Collaborate with the periodontics faculty and residents in research projects  

Serve as a mentor or advisor for periodontics residents' research projects  

Show evidence of scholarly activity with publications in peer-reviewed professional journals, and presentations at national/international professional meetings using technological innovations where appropriate and where possible provide intramural service to the DCG by serving on academic committees.   

Provide extramural service to organized dentistry and the profession of periodontics by serving on national/international committees including those in the AAP, SAP, GSP, AO, etc.  

Provide editorial services to journals   Provide CE to the dental profession      

Minimum Requirements  

DDS, DMD or its equivalent (e.g. BDS)   Required to have a periodontics certificate from a CODA accredited periodontics residency program, eligible for board certification from the American Board of Periodontology , must be able to obtain at minimum a faculty license from Georgia Board of Dentistry to teach and practice in the DPG
