Assistant Director of Admission
The Office of Admission is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Admission to assist the Admission Office in meeting its enrollment goals by working with prospective students, parents and guidance counselors in the recruitment of students. Duties include, but are not limited to, speaking with and/or interviewing prospective students and parents when they visit the College to discuss their admission qualifications and to explain the value/benefits of a Rhodes education. Defining annual goals in conjunction with the Director for assigned market segments. Effectively using data to develop informed recruitment and yield plans for assigned market segments. Planning, arranging and executing approximately six to ten weeks of recruitment related events in assigned market segments. Building and maintaining relationships, encouraging applications and promoting campus visits with prospective students in assigned market segments. Reading all applications within assigned markets segment by the appropriate deadlines.One or more years of admission experience or admission-related work in a liberal arts institution is preferred, but not required. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to understand and articulate the benefits of a liberal arts education in a residential setting. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, over the phone, via email and in person. Must exhibit professionalism and diplomacy in working effectively with diverse constituencies and demonstrate self-confidence. Proficiency on Microsoft Office required. Must be self-directed and enjoy working in a team-based environment.
