Responsibilities: Serve as the assistant director of the Cowboy Marching Band, including teaching responsibilities, participation in the creative design process, drill design and/or music arranging, student leadership development, and other administrative responsibilities. Conduct the OSU Concert Band. Conduct or co-conduct the OSU Spirit Band (basketball pep band). Teach courses in music education according to the successful candidate’s expertise. Assist with the observation of instrumental music education student teachers. In addition to instructional assignments, all music faculty are expected to be productive as scholars/artists and to engage in departmental, university and professional service.

Qualifications: Earned doctorate preferred. Masters required. Evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level. Background in public school music education required.

Rank/Salary: Visiting Assistant Professor. Salary and rank negotiable, dependent on qualifications and contingent upon funding availability.

Beginning Date: August 16, 2018

OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY: The University, with approximately 23,000 students at its main campus in Stillwater, is located approximately 65 miles from Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The Greenwood School of Music has thirty-two full-time and 5 part-time faculty members and is accredited by the NASM. The Department offers the degrees of Master of Music Degree with options in Applied Performance and Conducting (band, choral, and orchestral); Bachelor of Music (with options in music education, performance, or business); and Bachelor of Arts.
