Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, Communications or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
2-4 years of professional experience in a marketing/communications environment is required. The successful candidate must have excellent writing, editing and design skills. Proficiency with PC and Mac-based desktop publishing, graphics, web development, and word processing software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, MSOffice) required. Must be able to work efficiently and accurately.
The ability to comprehend and interpret a wide array of medical and academic subject matter is highly desirable.
A minimum of 7 years of post-graduate, professional work experience is required for appointment at the senior level. Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant post-graduate, professional work experience
License or certificate:
The Communications Specialist advances the clinical, research, and teaching missions of the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation and the Department of Urology through professional level design, writing, and editorial services.
