Job Summary/Basic Function:
We are seeking a well versed designer with areas of expertise to complement current program strengths in the Interior Design Program. Primary teaching responsibilities will include all levels to teach the basic elements of the design process, introduction to interior design, manual drafting and drawing skills, construction drawing principles/conventions in order to establish competency for sophomore portfolio review preparation, design studio, presentation techniques, design theory/ideation, and professional practice. This position allows for the development of innovative teaching initiatives blending manual and technical communication skills. Additional service responsibilities as needed by the department.

MFA in Interior Design, M.Arch, or MS / MA in Interior Design at the time of appointment with professional design experience; BFA / BA degree in Interior Design or a related field with extensive professional design experience and college level teaching may be considered.
The successful candidate must have proficiency in the following areas: manual drafting, graphic communication, ideation techniques, the design process, and presentation methods. The selected candidate's proficiencies should include professional application experience with the following software: Sketch-Up, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, AutoCAD and Revit.
College level teaching experience as instructor, and at least three years of professional design experience is preferred.
