REIMBURSEMENT ANALYST I

Occupational Summary- Part time 20 hours/week
Participate in a variety of activities to enhance billing and collection efforts related to third party reimbursements of professional charges.
Monitor professional billing system by Division; maintain systems to charge capture all in patient and outpatient charges, including consults.Assist with departmental audits of coding and billing and provide feedback to Revenue Manager.
Assist with reimbursement and denial analysis, and regulatory compliance monitoring. Identify and alert of any areas of concern.Identify and define appropriate CPT codes for existing and new services and assist with new initiatives if requested.Assist with on-going in-service training for faculty on proper coding guidelines, insurance regulations, medical records and physician documentation and signature requirements.
Periodic review of billing to provide additional feedback to the Revenue Manager and faculty.Consult with and advise physicians regarding billing problems and initiate plans for solving such problems.
Serve as an additional departmental resource for our providers and help field inquiries.Analysis of third party denials with the Billing and Collection Department and Revenue Manager to help identify trends or issues.
Review patient care account receivables and work with Revenue Manager and Patient Services to reduce outstanding debts and troubled accounts.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification.

Work requires knowledge of accounting or business principles and practices generally obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree program in an accounting or business related field.
