Job Summary

Skidmore College's Human Resources invites applications for a full-time, 12 month Employment Coordinator. The Employment Coordinator will implement recruiting strategies and pro actively support hiring departments with all facets of the hiring process.

The College is especially interested in candidates from under-represented groups as well as individuals who have demonstrated experience with diverse populations and who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating and placing employment ads, application/résumé processing and verifying and submitting for payment all advertising invoices. The individual will also be expected to serve as an effective liaison for the Human Resources Department. This position provides support to employees, managers, applicants, and visitors through customer service, prudent judgment, and discretion. The successful candidate will participate in HR project work such as reports relating to hiring, turnover, applicant tracking and other HR metrics as needed.

The position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Employment and Workforce Diversity and will provide administrative support to that position for training, education and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of coursework and experience. The successful candidate must have excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, dependability, and the capacity to work accurately and independently. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative skills in organizing and planning and be a highly self-motivated individual with the ability to build relationships and function as a member of a team. Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as other databases) and the aptitude for learning new systems are required.
