Job Description Summary:

The Clinical Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination of clinical and field experience placements of students enrolled in the nurse practitioner (NP) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. This role serves as the liaison between School of Nursing (SON) and clinical partners, and maintain a strong relationships with the local healthcare community. The incumbent will initiate, negotiate and reviewing contracts for execution between the university and our clinical affiliates. The Clinical Program Coordinator must have a strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and an excellent understandings of contracts legalities. The Clinical Coordinator will collaborate with the Clinical Program Director in the assignment and evaluation of clinical sites, as well as provide support for students needing clinical or field placements. The Clinical Program Coordinator will create clinical reports, tracking student clinical experiences, help with data collection, set up data sets, data analysis to ensure that learning objectives are met.

Responsibilities include:
Works independently to develop clinical and field experiences for DNP and NP students, cultivates and sustains good relationships with preceptors and maintains preceptor and clinical site databases.
Coordinates and performs record keeping and correspondence related to practicum experiences for all DNP and NP students.
Organize and participate in orientation sessions and other educational workshops.

Works in collaboration with the NP program faculty to coordinate and schedule NP student on-campus experiences in the CLASS Center and Nursing Lab and performs administrative tasks including educational materials, taking minutes, and editing documents as necessary.
Coordinates, implements and evaluates clinical educational programs, including coordination of services with the educational sites, scheduling simulation activities, assisting with clinical site development and placement, communicating with students and preceptors, supportive communication for clinical curriculum team.

Collaborate with clinical faculty to evaluate clinical sites.

Responsible for initiating, negotiating and executing affiliation agreements/contracts between GW SON and external clinical site/partners to ensure compliance with university regulations.
Coordinates clinical activities,create clinical reports tracking student clinical experiences in the clinical management program as required for accreditation.
Assist with data collection, set up data sets, and periodic data analysis to identify opportunities for process and outcome improvements.
Responsible for setting up and helping to facilitate meetings between clinical faculty and students, either face to face or virtually.
Develops and facilitates effective working relationships and communication as well as providing quality service with both internal and external constituents, clinical sites/preceptors.
Works with program directors in tracking site visits as a means of communicating and reinforcing experiential learning objectives.

Effectively utilize the clinical management system/program to manage all aspects of the clinical placement process, including but not limited to student placements, evaluation, documentation, and reporting as needed to meet CCNE and program standards.
Develops and maintains tracking systems and databases to ensure the efficient and effective management of administrative and clinical activities, and provides proactive reporting analysis to leadership and clinical curriculum committee.
Participate in the CCNE accreditation meetings and on-site evaluation.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education , training and experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, with at least one year of clinical placement experience preferred.
• Experience with reviewing and analyzing legal contracts preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently.
