Job description

Duties: The Research Project Manager B will be responsible for overseeing the clinical research arm of the Penn Acute Research Collaboration (PARC), a multi-departmental clinical and translational research initiative that provides 24/7/365 support for acute and time-sensitive clinical trials. The program manager interfaces regularly with PARC Co-Directors, PARC lab manager, research investigators, sponsors and clinical care teams. The position will manage and oversee all aspects of clinical, regulatory, operational, and staff development components. The position will conduct all initial and ongoing training and supervision of the research team; interface with Penn departments and investigators for new projects and funding sources; manage start-up activities including but not limited to feasibility assessments, budgeting, and PennChart research alert development; monitor studies for regulatory compliance and risk reduction; develop PARC SOPs; streamline and oversee day-to-day operations; troubleshoot challenges with collaborators and stakeholders; facilitate PARC leadership meetings; build PARC awareness and branding; present on PARC at outside meetings; and conduct traditional CRC activities of consenting, enrolling, sample and data collection, as needed.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: The minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years (or equivalent combination of education and experience) of combined experience in human subjects research, program management, and communications/donor relations/fundraising are required. Effective communication and writing skills, effective problem solving skills, working knowledge of regulatory documents and regulatory review requirements, understanding of humans subjects research protection regulations and training in good clinical practices required. Ability to multi-task, work independently and work as part of a team. Ability to train and supervise other staff to conduct human subjects research. Experience working with electronic data systems. Variable hours of duty (i.e., day, evening, and/or weekend hours) may be necessary. Limited travel may be needed. Valid driver's license required.
