Position Summary: This Undergraduate Student Services position is responsible for providing the Administrative Support for the Course Scheduling Officer and for being the registrar for both the Department of American Studies & the Department of English and Comparative Literature. This positon's main duties will handle scheduling for both undergraduate & graduate programs.This position is responsible for scheduling approximately 650 course sections courses each year and ensuring that the department's course scheduling database is maintained and reflective of the offerings that are on file with the Office of the University Registrar. This position works closely with departmental administrators, including his or her supervisor, the Department Chair, Program Directors, and the Curriculum Committee to ensure the success of the department's undergraduate programs and the course scheduling/assignment processes for all course instructors. The Student Services Specialist coordinates registration, enrollment, and course proposal activities and curriculum changes for the department, prepares summary reports for departmental leadership, including the department's curriculum committee, and submits the appropriate actions in the university's systems to add, delete, or revise courses. In conjunction with the department's Directors of Undergraduate Studies and the Department's Lecturer/Advisor, this position also serves as an advisor to English and Comparative Literature majors and minors and generally to non-majors and minors who inquire about undergraduate course offerings and procedures related to independent studies, registration, participation in English and Comparative Literature Honors, and other undergraduate student services issues.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
