The salary range for this classification is: $2,656 - $4,530 monthly.
Conditions of Employment
Possession of a valid Driver's License is required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
Employment is contingent upon candidate passing a pre-employment physical exam with the ability to lift up in excess of 50 lbs.
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position. Department: Logistical Services
Within the Division of Administration and Finance, Procurement, Contracts, Logistical and Support Services is comprised of the following sub units: Procurement, Contracts, Facilities Leasing and Scheduling, University Imaging, Shipping and Receiving, Asset Management, Inventory Stores and Mail Services. The mission of the department is to procure goods and services as required, process requests for facility use, receive and transport on campus deliveries, inventory control and asset management, track and store supplies and equipment. All services utilize best industry practices to ensure overall cost savings for campus departments, and to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws and CSU policies.
Under general supervision of the director, Procurement, Contracts, Logistical, Facilities Leasing, & Support Services (PCLASS), the incumbent shall perform a variety of warehouse and mail services tasks which shall include receiving and logging in of packages and boxes, storing and issuing goods to campus community upon request, perform scheduled pickups and deliveries on a routine basis. Mail services task shall include processing of incoming and outgoing campus mail, scheduled daily mail routes, sorting, tracking and other mail related duties as needed.
Required Education: None
High School diploma preferred
Required Experience: One year of experience assisting in the receipts, storage, or issuance of materials from centralized stockroom or warehouse, including some experience in the operation of fork lift trucks or similar power-operated materials handling equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: Working knowledge of methods, practices, and equipment used in receiving, storing, packing, and shipping materials and supplies. General knowledge of methods of taking inventories and maintaining inventory records. Mail delivery process and knowledge of mail postage machines.
Functional knowledge of standard office procedures and customer service practices of a service organization. Thorough knowledge of the English language and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
Abilities: Ability to match numbers quickly and accurately; keep simple records and make simple reports; read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; make simple mathematical calculations; operate powered materials handling equipment; apply safe methods of moving heavy supplies and equipment; perform manual labor. Ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software programs.
Certification: Valid Drivers License
60% - Receive shipments and deliver goods, supplies, materials, and equipment to campus community. Receive incoming materials and shipments from UPS, Fed Ex, DHL and other carriers; check items against packing slips, bills of lading etc., to verify accuracy. Prepare packages for outgoing shipments via parcel carriers, operate material handling equipment and utilize a variety of computerized bar-coding scan equipment. Processing of incoming and outgoing of campus mail, pickups and deliveries, perform daily mail routes, sorting, tracking and other mail related duties and operate mail machines.
35% - Assist with Inventory Stores replenishment via demand management and low velocity supply chain methods. Generate and analyze inventory reports, prepare requisitions for procurement of supplies, prepare chargebacks reports to bill for services provided, maintain computerized inventory, and project seasonal stock levels. Receive inventory supplies, issue inventory stock, store campus-wide supplies, assist departments with order information, maintain high security within Inventory Stores, work closely with Logistical Services and Procurement and Contracts for re-orders, maintain stock inventory, run reports and other general support.
5% - Other duties as assigned, e-surplus auction program, etc.
