Nature of Work

The University of West Georgia (UWG) Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach reports to the Women’s Basketball Head Coach. The UWG Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach assists the Women’s Basketball Head Coach in all aspects of the program as directed by the Women’s Basketball Head Coach. UWG is at the NCAA Division II level in the Gulf South Conference. The Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach provides support to the student athletes both academically and athletically and is expected to represent UWG in a professional manner that aligns with the University of West Georgia strategy & culture.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; Two years of previous Women’s Basketball coaching experience; Knowledge of rules and skills of women’s basketball; Ability to instruct student athletes in skills and safety. Must be energetic, professional and committed to improving the UWG Women’s Basketball program. Ability to recruit talented student athletes. Must be able to promote a positive environment for the student athletes to succeed academically, athletically and in the community. Knowledge of NCAA rules.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; three years of women’s basketball collegiate coaching experience; WBCA member

Salary $45,540.00/yrly Minimum - $58,632/yrly Midpoint Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Candidates must be physically able to teach/instruct student athletes and perform other physical duties in both hot and cold temperatures. The position requires working early mornings, nights and weekends. Must be able to travel for recruitment and off-campus games, including out of state.
