Posting Summary:
The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia, seeks a Health Economics Research Specialist for the Center of Health Policy. The Research Specialist helps to develop, design, and conduct one or more research projects of increasing size and complexity within the center of Health Policy. The incumbent reports to Dr. Michael D. Williams and works with other faculty and senior research professionals to complete projects. They oversee day-to-day operation of projects and/or specialized research areas to ensure work meets the objectives of the Principal Investigators. The incumbent will receive daily assignments from Center for Health Policy Division of Health Economics Faculty Affiliates primarily. The Research Specialist is also assigned professional tasks that support the work of other Affiliates as the discretion of the Center Director. The incumbent may collaborate in the writing and publication process. They may help present findings at conferences and presentation of findings at conferences.

A Master's degree in economics, public policy, political science, statistics, computer science, or related field is required. A Bachelor's Degree ins economics, public policy, political science, statistics, computer science, or a related field with three years of relevant experience will be considered. Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication is essential as is the proven ability to work independently to solve problems. Experience with programming in Stata is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using Matlab, Python and R.

** This is 1 year restricted position and continuation is dependent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory performance.**
