Publications Assistant/Senior Graphic Illustrator

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Publications Assistant/Senior Graphic Illustrator will provide support services to the publications, social media and clerical areas of the office, primarily publications. This team player will be assigned tasks by the Publications Manager, in support of those areas. Major responsibilities are the direct support/assistance to the Publications Manager, which may include all of or some of the following – scheduling and supervising photo shoots, taking photos and videos, handling the archiving and distribution of photography and video content, editing photos in Photoshop and Lightroom, and editing video in Premiere. Duties also include assisting with the creation of collateral material, including print publications; collecting and publishing updated catalog information and preparing materials for posting on the website. The incumbent will also serve as backup to the publications staff during their vacation periods. This person may also handle the creation of some publications with minimal supervision. In addition, the incumbent will handle clerical tasks such as copying, filing, phones, coordination of requisitions, submitting invoices, developing contracts, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school or equivalency diploma and four years of technical experience in illustration, graphic design or desktop publishing, which must have included experience in the design and production of a variety of visual materials is required. At least 4 years of experience in photography and videography strongly preferred. We are seeking a team member who can support the other individuals in the office. The successful candidate must possess strong visual skills and be comfortable behind a camera or overseeing a photo/video shoot. He/she must also possess solid writing skills and be familiar with using a content management system (CMS). Solid knowledge of Windows-based office software and procedures, good knowledge of computers, and knowledge of Windows required. Experience in the use of a DSLR camera, photography, video production, video editing, photo manipulation and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software also required.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $51,320, plus excellent benefits.
