Nature of Work:
The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine is seeking an energetic individual for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position within the outpatient Sleep Center within the Comprehensive Lungs and Breathing program (CLB) at the University of Colorado Hospital. This position will hold the title of Instructor of Medicine within the Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Division of the University of Colorado. The Division oversees an internationally and regionally recognized referral center for the care of patients with all forms of pulmonary disease and critical illness.
The responsibilities will include the assessment and ongoing management of patients with underlying sleep disorders. The provider will work closely with the Physicians within the CLB; and he or she will participate in multi-disciplinary conferences for these respective clinics as well as help gather and present the data within these conferences. Additionally, the successful provider may be responsible for conducting research and educational duties as directed by and at the discretion of the CLB's Director.
- Out patient assessment and care of patients with sleep disorders or sleep related complaints.
- Assisting physicians the out-patient care of this same patient population
- Participation in multi-disciplinary conferences and presentation of patients within these same conferences.
- Follow-up care: phone follow-up, clinic visits for continuity
- Scheduling of evaluations and tests
- Engaging and communicating with consulting services
- Enrollment and follow-up of patients in clinical trials, where appropriate
- Perform additional duties per the Director
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training
- Eligible to be or licensed in Colorado

- Excellent bedside manner and physical exam skills
- General Medicine knowledge base (Sleep-related specialized knowledge and skills desirable but will be obtained as on-the-job training)
Conditions of employment:
Approved credentials and hospital privileges must be obtained prior to start date. The successful candidate will work the Division to acquire privileges once an offer has been accepted.
