Asst Professor

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Colorado in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a board certified/board eligible Orthopedic Surgeon with a sub-specialty in hand surgery. The University of Colorado Denver is located on a new 2.5 billion dollar campus that combines state of the art medical facilities and basic science research. All incumbents must have completed a one year hand fellowship, have an interest in developing a clinical practice and research endeavors, and participate in our resident/fellowship education program. Incumbent will establish an orthopedic hand practice in the Longmont and Boulder communities, extending the UC Health and CU orthopedic network of care. Academic and professional involvement may require travel to the Anschutz medical campus in Aurora, Colorado. Clinical support for tertiary referral center with extensive pathology covering the entire spectrum of hand wrist and elbow surgery. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the level of expertise and academic credentials.

Examples of Work Performed:

Clinical responsibilities include actively participating in continued growth of the Hand Wrist and Elbow program at the University of Colorado Hospital, University of Colorado Department of Orthopedics. Secondary clinical support may include participation in the orthopedic services within the VA Eastern Colorado Heath System and or Boulder Community Health. The incumbent will provide medical services in both the inpatient and outpatient environments within the UC Health network of care. The incumbent will be an employee of the Department of Orthopedics, University of Colorado. Teaching responsibilities include participating in the education of orthopedic surgery residents, hand fellows, and medical students. Research responsibilities include actively pursuing and participating in research activities as well as mentoring residents and other faculty in research endeavors.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Board certified/board eligible Orthopedic Surgeon with a sub-specialty in hand surgery.
  • Must have training or extensive experience in hand surgery
  • All incumbents must have completed a one year hand fellowship
  • 1-3 years related experience title (Assistant/Associate Professor) will be contingent on years of experience

  • Strong research interest
  • Background in research
  • Trained in Epic software
