Nature of Work:
This position represents the Office of Admissions to prospective students (both those who identify as Hispanic/Latino and general student populations), parents, secondary school personnel, high school guidance counselors, senior high school administrators and organizations involved in the college selection process. In order to represent UWG to these different groups, the position requires extensive travel, including overnight and weekends, and managing a territory of counties that consist of Hispanic/Latino and general student populations. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions – Recruitment, this position will also develop and implement a strategic plan for growing the established Hispanic/Latino Territory and participate actively in admission office efforts designed to encourage professional development and employee engagement. In addition, this position serves as a front-line service provider, for in-office student admission counseling, electronic and traditional communication with prospective students, and implementation of Latino/Hispanic student specific recruitment programs. Finally, this position serves as liaison between the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion to ensure continuity of programming and student support through enrollment.
Bachelor’s degree and bilingual fluency in the Spanish language required. Experience working with a diverse group of people and an ability to present a positive image for the University required. Must be adaptable to a rapid-paced environment and possess a considerable degree of flexibility. The candidate for this position must be a goal driven, self-starter who is capable of working independently. Candidates must also have exemplary interpersonal/communication skills and willingness to speak publicly to large and small groups of people. Travel is necessary and personal vehicle use is occasionally required.
One year of admissions experience preferred. Familiarity with SCT/Banner or similar system is preferred.
Salary $14.48 minimum - $17.85 midpoint
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The ability to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment up to 25 lbs.
