Job Description Summary:

The Development Assistant in the Law School's Development & Alumni Relations Office provides administrative support related to fundraising programs and activities. This position reports to the Office Manager and will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Provides administrative support for the planning and coordination of fundraising activities such as direct mailings, various campaigns, and special events.
• Provides clerical support to include typing, and data entry of contributions and billings; confirms, verifies, and/or follows-up on deposits, gift requests, matching gift contributors, credit card charges, etc.; and may receive, record, deposit, and track revenues.
• Maintains database files and records to track contributions and to ensure accurate mailing lists; generates computer reports from these databases regarding fundraising results, and to generate mailing labels to send fundraising materials, invitations, etc.
• Processes travel arrangement and reimbursements; may manage and field the general development and/or alumni email account and phone lines; and creates and maintains spreadsheets as needed for various special events.
• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are desired.

Excellent skills utilizing Microsoft Suite, development tracking software, and other contemporary applications are preferred.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are desired.
