Vice Chair Research

The Duke Pediatric Research Scholars Program (DPRS) within theDepartment of Pediatrics provides leadership in pediatric research training and mentorship and the discovery of new strategies to prevent and treat diseases in children. We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated individual to serve as the Program Director. The program for pediatric residents, fellows and junior faculty is housed within Department of Pediatrics, in which a team of highly interactive investigators have expertise in pediatric research, research training, immunology, molecular biology, microbiology, preclinical animal models, clinical trials, and quality improvement research.The Program Director will be responsible for working with other Program Directors on curriculum development and coordination of the pediatric physician-scientist training program, including oversight of an application and selection process, seminar series, mentor identification, and coordination of faculty involvement. The Program Director will work directly with residents and fellows in the DPRS on career planning, grant applications, and the development of abstracts, manuscripts, and other scholarly products, and help the residents and fellows to identify research resources within and external to Duke. The Program Director will also be responsible for developing and tracking program metrics. In addition, the Program Director will work with the Vice Chairs of Research and Education to coordinate and track the research curriculum for junior faculty and track participation of faculty with faculty advisory committees.

A Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences is preferred. A PhD in the Biomedical Sciences may offset required years of experience.
