    The Associate Specialist will work on Alzheimer's Disease Research Center - Longitudinal Cohort under the direction of the Medical Director, Aimee Pierce, MD., will be responsible to perform neurological and physical assessments for elderly research participants at the UCI MIND Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) located in Irvine, CA. There are approximately 400 research participants seen in the ADRC, which includes annual neurological/physical and cognitive evaluations. The Associate Specialist will also perform clinical interviews with study participants and partners, perform cognitive assessments, write up findings in formal reports, and participate in the preparation and presentation of case conferences for weekly clinical research team meetings. He/She will also be involved in the attainment of written informed consent for various human research protocols.
    The Associate Specialist will also be working with the clinical trials unit of the ADRC, assisting with prescreening medical records for inclusion/exclusion criteria, perform clinical interviews and psychometric assessments, and assist in data collection.

    The incumbent will be expected to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job, and maintain a high level of professionalism and collegiality in interactions with participants, patients, and team members.
    The Associate Specialist may also be assist in IRB submission and communication, data analysis, and dissemination of research results.


    Candidate with Completion of medical training program at a U.S. accredited school of medicine or be a graduate of a medical school located outside of the US and Canada that is listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) of the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER). Preference will be given to candidates with Experience in working with the elderly and Knowledge of dementia as a disease process. Candidates must be able to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and to manage projects within a complex organization; therefore, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills are essential.

    This position will be appointed at the level that is commensurate with the education and experience of the individual candidate
