The College of Medicine at Florida State University has embarked on a strategic effort to increase basic and translational research related to human health. In an effort to extend our impact in translational and discovery research, we are seeking two clinician-scientists at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor ranks with proven track records of excellence in creative approaches to Biomedical Research, extramural funding, and in leading interdisciplinary groups. The mission of the College of Medicine is to prepare compassionate physicians who discover and advance knowledge and deliver the highest quality patient-centered medicine to communities with the greatest need. The Research and Discovery mission of the College of Medicine is facilitated by more than 150,000 sq. ft. of laboratory space and fully supported core labs in proteomics, genomics, advanced confocal, super-resolution and multiphoton microscopy, flow cytometry, animal care, and cell culture. Research in the Department of Biomedical Sciences covers a broad spectrum of disciplines, offering a rich, diverse, and collegial environment. The translation science core laboratory is equipped with modern mass spectrometry and deep sequencing equipment including a new state-of-the-art Illumina NovaSeq 6000. A new 3T MRI system (Siemens MAGNETOM Prisma) is housed in a new MR facility at the College of Medicine. Current research in the department is broadly focused on understanding the molecular bases of human diseases and regenerative medicine (http://med.fsu.edu/index.cfm?page=phdAdmissions.researchAreas). The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Florida State University College of Medicine invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks.
Established investigators will be expected to have extramurally supported research, and early-stage investigators will be expected to develop and sustain an extramurally funded research program. The vision for these hires is to integrate with the research programs of the existing 34 research faculty in Biomedical Sciences and with those in other Departments at FSU, and to teach in one of the key areas of medical, physician assistant, and graduate education.
Doctorate degree (PhD or MD), and be a junior, mid-career, or senior basic- or clinician-scientist at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level with proven track record of excellence in creative approaches to Biomedical Research and leading interdisciplinary groups to address fundamental questions in cancer biology, developmental biology, neuroscience, microbiology, genetics, bioinformatics or human disease; and generating peer-reviewed funding.
Expertise and/or experience in teaching microbiology, pharmacology, gross anatomy or pathology would be particularly valued.
Experience leading interdisciplinary groups is valued among applicants.

Anticipated Salary Range
The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position will include protected academic time, with dedicated research funding to support the successful candidate, and access to exceptional core facilities.
This is a Faculty position.
