The Telecommute Database Administrator will perform that following duties remotely: Performs analysis, design, implementation and modification of complex computer systems for the College; administers/supports the database management system and Banner administrative software for the College; develops data standards and documentation; provides technical support to functional areas of the system management, file management, system performance, resource utilization, capacity planning, secured access/control and operations in a multi-vendor open-system, higher education environment; and performs systems and applications programming.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and 5 yrs. experience in Oracle database administration and computer system development / and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree on a year for a year basis.
Flexible work hours are required to update and patch the Oracle and Banner database systems so that minimal impact is made ont he college community. May require work outside normal duty hours when need arises. May rewuire travel, possibly overnight , to attend training, seminars and/or conferences. Some lifting is required.
Responsible for the physical location of the remote workplace. Workplace must meet the requirements of the College.
Workplace must be a separate designated space free from hazards and dangers to individual and equipment.
