Assistant Professor of Computer Science
The Alvernia University Math and Science Department is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science beginning August 2018. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate students in day and on-line programs, curriculum design, and course development. Other responsibilities include working with enrollment and admissions, advising students, participating in faculty governance, contributing to the department, promoting student research, assuring quality, and coordinating practicum and internship experiences.
We seek candidates with a Ph.D in Computer Science or related field as well as evidence of quality teaching experience and scholarly productivity. Specialization in the area of Operating System Administration (Linux and/or Windows), Cyber Security, Coding, Data Science, and Computer Vision is desirable. This is a nine-month faculty contract with abundant opportunities for additional summer teaching and research with supplemental compensation.
