Job Description:

SUMMARY

Responsible for directing and overseeing all components of the 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) Program including refinement and delivery of curriculum, business support services, the day-to-day management of program operations and maintaining a satisfactory working relationship with the Goldman Sachs organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Directs and continuously improves the 10KSB program at the College to help small businesses expand and create jobs
  • Generates, develops and maintains positive relationships with all partner relationships with local organizations, associations, etc.
  • Facilitates communication and manages relationships with local campus personnel and coordinates efforts across different areas of the College to deliver a unified and comprehensive program
  • Selects, hires, trains, and manages the performance of assigned staff to deliver the program's vision
  • Manages program staffing, budgeting, service delivery and curriculum delivery
  • Manages on-going program measurement and evaluation, including the selection and analysis of effective site performance metrics
  • Leads the continuous development and improvement of innovative and practical solutions to address the needs of small businesses in the realm of curriculum, services, technical assistance and networking
  • Develops new targeted outreach and recruitment plans to attract the right businesses to the program
  • Oversees events, clinics, and graduations for small business owners
  • In collaboration with Integrated Communications, develops a tactical communication plan to promote the 10KSB program
  • Researches funding sources for new programs and/or sustainability
  • Maintains a working knowledge of workforce development needs and trends locally and nationally
  • Produces regular expenditure, enrollment, activities reports and budgets to outline the program's activities
  • Represents EVP as needed at meetings and events
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Government Relations, or a related field
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of eight years of senior management experience with a track record of progressive responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others
  • Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area's budget
  • Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of management theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Demonstrated senior management experience with a track record of progressive responsibility in private industry or a large community or governmental organization
  • Demonstrated workforce development experience in a higher education environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing grants and/or grant-funded programs
