Job Description:


Leads the successful development, implementation, and delivery of effective business services for the 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) program including direct technical assistance to assist participants to develop growth plans and implement change strategies.

  • Manages the performance of assigned staff in the delivery of business services for the 10KSB program
  • Develops effective and innovative services for program participants that drive job growth
  • Creates and delivers business services, including staffing, data capture, performance measures, and quality assurance
  • Leads Alumni and outreach activities
  • Provides direct business services and expert advice to business participants
  • Monitors effectiveness and relevance of services, and makes adjustments as necessary
  • Develops strategies within various business sectors for improving services to the business customer
  • Leads business recruitment to identify and attract qualified leads for the program
  • Develops and maintains relationships with participating businesses
  • Identifies and generates partnerships with other organizations providing business assistance to ensure that businesses receive the services they need
  • Develops and maintains a network of professionals to provide mentoring services to businesses
  • Generates performance metrics to measure outputs and outcomes from the program and collects relevant information and perform analysis to identify areas for program improvement
  • Prepares management reports and implement action plans to improve performance when needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Marketing, or related business discipline
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of seven years of demonstrated experience in marketing, management, and/or operations with a record of progressive responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience in consulting, clients services, sales or other relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience hiring, training, developing, scheduling, supervising and managing the work performance of others
  • Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing and monitoring a business area's budget
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of management concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
  • Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated advanced Project Management and report preparation skills
  • Possess strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented
  • Possess strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility and teamwork
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, foster and cultivate relationships, create opportunities and solve problems
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Management, or a related field

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
  • The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
  • Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
