Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, in biological, social sciences, or other health-related field preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Strong computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and Redcap.
3. Must have documented experience working as a team.
4. Must have documented experience with detailed work such as accurately completing case report forms or other similar work.

1. 1-2 years experience recruiting, consenting and enrolling participants in research studies.
2. 1-2 years experience in emergency medicine or other clinical health care setting.
3. Experience working on multidisciplinary teams

Prefix determination is based on years of relevant work experience.

Position Summary:

This position will work with the Department of Emergency Medicine Research Program and will assist with Departmental research support activities. The Department of Emergency Medicine Research Program is multidisciplinary with a variety of projects in clinical and translational research, including clinical trials, electronic medical record data analysis, survey research qualitative research and clinical/health systems interventions. The successful candidate will have experience with a wide variety of research protocols and will be able to successfully implement these research protocols into the Emergency Department Research Enroller (EDRE) Program, enroll research participants into these studies, and train others how to enroll for these studies.

Job activities involve research specific responsibilities. This individual must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills are required as the individual will have to interface with research participants, research team members, community organizations and clinicians. The EDRE Coordinator (Research Specialist) position will play a vital role in the conduct of this research, including the identification and recruitment of study participants, survey completion, data management and reporting, as well as providing support to researchers to ensure the project runs smoothly and according to protocols. The individual must be comfortable working in the emergency care setting, approaching individuals in the Emergency Department and have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
