ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Duties: Manage Academic Affairs functions for MSN, DNP and PhD Students including developing MSN & DNP plans of study, tracking the retention of MSN/DNP students, and participating in walk-in advising hours. Manage all Student Affairs functions for MSN, DNP and PhD students including the design, development, implementation and evaluation of New Student Orientation and related activities. Manage the tracking of the students in the PhD Program, including monitoring PhD funding. Manage cases for graduate students in crisis, contacting key university resources as needed. Serve as the liaison to international students in the School of Nursing. Advise the Graduate Student Organization and the Doctoral Student Organization to ensure their effectiveness. Represent the School of Nursing at key school and university meetings regarding MSN, DNP and PhD students.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree required, and minimum of 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in a university setting. Master's degree (in Higher Education, counseling, student personnel) strongly preferred. Prior experience in student counseling or academic advising highly desirable. Proven ability to plan, implement, manage and evaluate initiatives, programs and activities. Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects and work in a team environment. Solid analytical skills required. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyze and interpret information, present clear and concise recommendations and intervene effectively as needed. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Must work well with students, faculty, and other constituencies. Proficiency in MS Office Suite needed (including word processing, spreadsheet and database management, and web management).
