Duties: The University of Pennsylvania Press, publisher of scholarly and semipopular books and journals, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant to the Director / Rights Administrator, who is responsible for negotiating and administering permissions and rights licenses, for managing the awards submission program, for maintaining contractual and rights records and book archives at the Press, and for general administrative and editorial support to the Office of the Director. Reports to the director.

Qualifications: High-school graduate plus 3-5 years' related experience (additional education may substitute for some experience). College degree and foreign-
language competency strongly preferred. Requires excellent organizational skills, versatility, and ability to exercise independent judgment. Computer aptitude and fluency with word-processing, spreadsheet, and desktop database software essential. Internship or other background in scholarly publishing desirable. Other computer skills and office experience a plus. Must be highly energetic, organized, able and willing to handle a large variety of tasks and details.
