Position Summary: Assist in animal surgeries (including preparation before and post-surgical care). Assist in the breeding and management of mice (weaning, following IACUC regulations, paperwork for desired matches, etc.). Become self-sufficient in the procedures for genotyping mice. Prepare non-decalcified histological samples following animal surgeries (polymer infiltration, potting, slicing, and polishing). Prepare frozen histological samples and perform cryosectioning. Perform image acquisition and analysis using microscopy. Assist in routine computer data entry and data manipulation, using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc). Write reports for experiments, assist in the maintenance of laboratory protocols, and assist in preparation of manuscripts.
