Assistant/Associate Professor, HPEd program (IHP Faculty)

The MGH Institute of Health Professions, an innovative, not-for-profit graduate school in Boston, MA, invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position as Assistant or Associate Professor of Health Professions Education. The successful candidate will have expertise in health professions education and scholarship, experience teaching a range of topics to health professionals, and prior accomplishments in online educational activities.
The Assistant/Associate Professor will join the Center for Interprofessional Studies and Innovation (CIPSI) with primary responsibilities in the hybrid Master of Science in Health Professions Education program (MS-HPEd). The MS-HPEd program serves mid-career clinicians/educators and admits cohorts of approximately 22-25 students each year for a two-year, part-time, and largely online program of study. The faculty position reports to the Director of the HPEd program and assists the Director in providing program leadership in alignment with the educational philosophy of the program, and the mission and strategic priorities of the HPEd program, CIPSI and the Institute. The Assistant/Associate Professor also stands in for the Director to represent the program as required.
All faculty members are expected to contribute to the Institute's teaching, research, and service missions. Initial faculty appointments are for one to three years, depending on rank and qualifications. While the Institute does not offer tenure, faculty appointments are eligible for renewal indefinitely in terms of up to five years.
The successful candidate for this position will engage in his or her own scholarly work as well as collaborate with faculty at the Institute. There will be an opportunity to teach introductory and advanced health professions education courses, to serve on Scholarly Project committees, and support MS-HPEd program-related activities (admissions, student advising, etc.). While full-time is preferred, applicants interested in part-time faculty positions will be considered. Full-time presence in Boston is desired but not required.
