Orlando Regional Medical School Campus - College of Medicine
Assists the Regional Campus Dean in identifying academic or other support needed by year 3 & 4 students, with the goal of maximizing success of each student. Primary liaison for students between College of Medicine (COM) administration, faculty, academic programs and student services.
Assists with the coordination of activities related to exam preparation, career development information, provides personal counseling, financial aid, residency programs and other services upon request. Makes presentations to students on Careers in Medicine (CiM) and the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Serves as proctor for exams.
Assists students in identifying and obtaining externship opportunities, scholarships, etc.
Responsible for answering student inquiries regarding policies and requirements of the COM. Works closely with the Regional Campus Dean and other staff in planning and directing the transition of medical students through medical training. Assists with dissemination of instructional materials. Assures students meet immunization and paperwork requirements for hospitals. Position is a confidential resource for students and is responsible for directing students to appropriate counseling resource in COM.
Primary responsibility for professional development activities to include medical student organizations (local, state and national) and coordination of student travel for these activities.
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
Experience demonstrating effective customer service skills.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Experience interpreting academic program requirements and providing advice.
Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously and meeting project deadlines.
Experience utilizing problem solving skills.
Experience with providing academic resources available to students.
Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, or applicable programs.
Experience with academic and/or student program planning, development, and evaluation.
Experience in utilizing career counseling tools and resources.
This position is located in Orlando, Florida.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
