Dental Hygiene Patient Coordinator

Location: Baker College of Clinton Township
Compensation: Salary based on education, experience, and existing wage rates paid for similar positions within Baker College Professional Services, Inc. Full benefit package.
Start Date: June 1, 2018

Reports To: Program Director for Dental Sciences
Work Schedule: 28 hours per week/52 weeks per year

Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of DENTAL HYGIENE PATIENT COORDINATOR (Part-Time) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker of Clinton Township.

General Statement of Duties:

The primary duties for this position include patient scheduling and records maintenance, answering phones, greeting and assisting students and patients, and faculty support (per accreditation guidelines). Excellent verbal and written communication skills must be demonstrated at all times. This position requires extensive knowledge of dental terminology. Knowledge and experience with dental office management software, including appointment scheduling, patient charting and billing/payment procedures is essential. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with private medical and dental offices and clinics and represent the program in a professional manner at all times.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in or related field required
  • CDA, RDA, or RDH degree preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of dental terminology required
  • Knowledge and experience with dental office management software, including appointment scheduling, patient charting and billing/payment procedures required
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA and HIPAA policies as they relate to dental patient care required
  • General knowledge of dental sterilizing units, and dental equipment and supplies required
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Patient scheduling and records maintenance
  • Assist Program Director in coordinating and maintaining positive relationships with all clinical sites.
  • Answering phones
  • Greeting and assisting students, patients, and faculty support (per accreditation guidelines)
  • Assist with special projects and meetings, including Advisory Board, dental continuing education courses, and special presentations from health care professionals
  • Assist faculty with student tracking and patient requirements
  • Attend college-sponsored meetings and orientations
  • Other duties as assigned
