Salary:

Salary range: $2,383 - $3,308 per month (anticipated hiring range/salary: $2,383 - $2,502 per month)

Note: This position is on an11/12 Pay Plan which is equivalent to eleven months of salary distributed over a 12-month period. The scheduled month off will be July. Eligible for medical, dental and vision benefits plus paid vacation, sick leave, etc.

Organizational Description:

The Early Assessment Program (EAP) is a collaborative effort among the State Board of Education (SBE), theCalifornia Department of Education (CDE),and theCalifornia State University (CSU).The program was established:

	to provide opportunities for students to measure their readiness for college-level English and mathematics in their junior year of high school	to facilitate opportunities for them to improve their skills during their senior yearThe goal of the EAP program is to have California high school graduates enter the CSU fully prepared to begin college-level study.

The Early Assessment Program Consists of Three Components:

	
  • Early testing
  • 	
  • The opportunity for additional preparation in the 12th grade
  • 	
  • Professional development activities for high school English and mathematics teachers
  • Overview:

    Under the leadership and guidance of the Early Assessment Program (EAP) Coordinator, the incumbent will provide a variety of information and services to prospective students and others interested in post-secondary education through the California State University and particularly California State University, Fresno (Fresno State). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: responding to prospective students (grades 7-14), their parents, counselors, and teachers to promote post-secondary education and provide the information regarding university admissions requirements, procedures and timelines, financial aid programs, academic opportunities, and student services available at Fresno State, and other duties or projects as assigned.

    Position Summary:

    	
  • Serve as office receptionist, screen calls and visitors
  • 	
  • Receive, process and distribute standard and electronic mail
  • 	
  • Prepare and mail information packets to school and maintain log
  • 	
  • Schedule appointments and meetings for the EAP Coordinator
  • 	
  • Schedule and process travel applications/claims
  • 	
  • Track and maintain travel records for EAP
  • 	
  • Track and maintain budgetary expenses for EAP
  • 	
  • Create and maintain standard and electronic records, database files and record keeping systems
  • 	
  • Troubleshoot office technology problems and systems
  • 	
  • Trackthe receipt and the distribution and interpretation of EAP test results to school districts and school sites
  • 	
  • Prepareannual and quarterly reports, as well as publications
  • 	
  • Prepare materials that will be utilized in written and oral presentations
  • 	
  • Assist the coordinator with special projects (e.g. board meetings)
  • 	
  • Disseminate program information to students, including communicating the importance of the program and value of appropriate 12th grade interventions of the EAP to area high schools and community colleges, in order to secure an understand of EAP

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    	Basic knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures	Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation	Fundamental writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate standard informationAbility to:

    	Use standard office equipment	Use standard word processing and related computer software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, calendar, email)	Identify and solve standard problems and refer more complex problems to appropriate staff	Perform basic mathematical functions	Respond to routine inquiries and explain standard policies and procedures to othersEducation and Experience:

    	
  • Completion of a high school program or its equivalent
  • 	1 year of experience in an office environmentPreferred Skills:
