Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology
The Department of Sociology at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a full-time, one-year teaching position as a Visiting Professor beginning mid-August 2018. A PhD in sociology or a related discipline is required by the time of appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience, and includes the option of receiving additional compensation for summer teaching. This position includes health, dental and vision benefits, as well as conference travel support during the academic year.
The successful candidate will teach six undergraduate courses over the academic year. The ability to teach in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Introduction to Sociology, Culture and Society, Deviant Behavior, Family and Marriage, Prejudice and Racism, Social Organizations, Social Services, Research Methods, Sex and Gender, and Criminology.
