Reporting to the Director of Development, the Prospect Researcher will develop and direct a proactive strategy to build a robust pipeline of major and leadership gift prospects for the College. This position will utilize various information sources and analytical methods to identify, qualify, research, and rate prospects and their affiliated charitable foundations, ensuring information is properly documented the College’s donor database, Raiser’s Edge. The ideal candidate will prepare and deliver actionable information about Becker prospects in ways that are readily accessible by Advancement staff. The Prospect Researcher will partner with the Becker frontline fundraisers to match prospects with specific fundraising initiatives and will respond to a wide variety of research and data requests, and undertake special projects as assigned. Utilizing various electronic and hard sources that are the standards of the profession, will effectively communicate appropriate qualitative research findings to leadership, and the development team.
This position will work with the Director of Development to build a comprehensive moves management program for effective management, measurement, and analysis of the progress of prospects through the fundraising cycle.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with Blackbaud or constituent management software strongly preferred
- Experience in a higher education setting, specifically in development, and experience with prospect research tools such as WealthEngine, LexisNexis, and Target Analytics strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills as well as attention to detail and consistent follow-through; capacity to adapt to changing priorities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; ability to work collaboratively and independently.
