About The American University in Cairo:

Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. Job Description:

The Department of Petroleum Engineering invites applicants for full time faculty positions at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Highly accomplished applicants may qualify for the rank of full professor. Appointment starts Fall 2018. The positions are renewable, based on performance after a thorough review with excellent performance evaluation by the end of the first year.


Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering (or related fields) with a proven teaching experience and research track record commensurate with appointment rank and proportional to the stage of their academic careers.

Applications are encouraged from candidates at both senior and relatively junior levels with past teaching experience and expertise in core Petroleum Engineering fields. Workload is distributed between: (1) teaching, (2) research, and (3) service activities. The successful candidate will play a role in delivering several courses in petroleum engineering and supervising undergraduate/graduate research. Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.

Candidates will be committed to excellence in teaching courses at basic and advanced levels. The ability to integrate the candidate's field experiences, if any, with the didactic is a plus. Candidates are also expected to have a proven record of scholarship, grantsmanship, and conduct high quality research, or equivalent, in their areas of expertise.
