Program Coordinator and Instructor of Human Services

Gardner-Webb University Department of Public Service invites applications for a 10-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Instructor/Assistant Professor of Human Services. We value quality teaching and seek enthusiastic scholars who will likewise enjoy working closely with degree completion undergraduate students in a Christian environment. Faculty members may be required to teach on-campus, off-campus, and in an on-line environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate the Human Services Degree Completion Program.
  • Teach in the Human Services major and minor.
  • Coordinate and supervise human services internships and capstone course.
  • Establish relationships with community partners and human services agencies.
  • Demonstrate continuing professional and educational growth.
  • Advise and mentor students through realistic and thorough guidance.
  • Maintain communications with the Degree Completion Program Success Coaches, Enrollment Management, DCP Council, and DCP Administration.
  • Contribute to on-going accreditation, assessment, and evaluation processes.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the University and performing other duties as assigned by the Department Chair of Public Service.

Preferred qualifications for consideration include:

  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral in School or Mental Health Counseling or related field.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Record of successful collaboration and teamwork.
  • Commitment to the Christian faith.
  • Collegiality, integrity, good will and a sense of humor.
  • Commitment to student learning, particularly human service career preparation.
  • Teaching experience in this discipline is preferred.
