Assistant Director of Development Research
The Assistant Director of Development Research (AD) is a member of a collaborative research team responsible for providing a wide range of research services to members of the College's Development & Alumni Relations (DAR) Division, the Office of the President, and the Board of Trustees. The AD has primary responsibility for prospect identification activities and manages wealth screenings and associated research based on fundraising priorities. The AD works closely with DAR management and frontline fundraisers to set prospect identification goals, assign capacity ratings, and develop prospect strategy. The AD also provides a variety of proactive and reactive research services and products in support of existing and emerging constituent relationships across DAR and trains staff on prospect identification and general research topics.
This is an exempt position requiring time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements. Hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.Bachelor's degree required. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills; proven ability to create a variety of written reports for a wide range of audiences. Demonstrated research, data collection, analysis, and presentation skills; attention to accuracy and detail essential. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and handle highly confidential information with discretion; strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Critical thinker with the desire to work creatively; experience using new tools and technologies to meet and exceed goals and expectations. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook), and experience using complex relational databases; knowledge of Raiser's Edge preferred.
A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required; experience as part of a fundraising team preferred.
