The Program in Social Work and Gerontology invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Social Work and Gerontology beginning August 13, 2018.  The Department is seeking a scholar in the field of Social Work and Gerontology with a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts environment. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to teach a six-course load over the two semesters, which will include courses in Social Work Research and Statistics and Gerontology, and providing academic advising for gerontology minors.  A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, undergraduate education of women, a liberal arts education, and service to the department and the College is expected.  

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Social Work or a related field; ABD considered if completion of doctorate is anticipated by May 18, 2019.  M.S.W. from a CSWE-accredited program required.  Teaching experience required.  Starting date is August 13, 2018.  Classes begin on August 20, 2018.  This is a visiting, one-year appointment (academic year) with potential to become tenure-track based on need and approval of the department and the College.
